Now there is an article about downsizing at the company after the furlough is over. Bob Iger has also taken back his title.

Like I said i do not trust this company sadly when they said all of our jobs are safe when we return. We Will see...

Walt Disney World announces HR appointment times on HUB for furloughed employees. Starting Saturday April 10 from 10 AM to 8 PM those furloughed can speak with an HR rep by telephone. At this writing only about 20 appointment slots have filled up for Saturday. Easter Sunday still has appointments available...HR will telephone the employee at their SAP listed phone number.

Wife of a cast member here.... All I know is that the spending of $70b for Fox is not exactly looking like a good thing. Way to go (out) Iger. And in some cases they are keeping contractors and/or bring more of them in to replace seasoned full time employees. ANOTHER great move.

I wasn't told much detail as what lines of business are essential for the operation during the downtime. But we were told we can get jobs elsewhere or file for unemployment while Disney doesn't want to pay us (they REEALLY care about us right....).
We were told we have jobs when this is all over but I can't trust this company's word after today. Disney has absolutely zero clue how it will clean and operate after this virus fear is quelled. I've asked questions regarding revamped cleaning protocols, and no one had answers but they want us to come up with a plan since they are clueless. Fat chance now since you aren't paying us after the 18th.
I'm surprised no one in the media have asked Disney how they will operate and keep the parks clean to ensure guest safety, expect the generic response without specific details if a spokesperson does respond.

As for union workers, their negotiations have begun so it's a possibility their pay will be modified as well. I'm guessing the union may delay it as long as possible so their members continue to get paid. I would expect another announcement regarding them as well in the near future since it's obvious Disney doesn't want to lose more money.

It's kind of c-ap but at least now we know.
