He has been predicting this for decades, I would not get consumed over it too much, I want to say one thing, IT people who do repeated tasks and stretch out the "pushback" on any contract are a commodity, and honestly, the company needs to rethink their usefulness. Globalism hasn't really gotten us ANYTHING of value, and now it shows. They always have been a commodity (go back 10 years) and that is why they were hired from India for pennies on the dollar, seems attractive on a spreadsheet to any tech company in a market where all you are given is Facebook and Twitter. Now a good consultant with a ton of experience is not a "commodity", these people are rare and do something very unique and useful. Process Consulting and consulting in this high end space (customer facing consulting) is here to stay, tools need good implementations if they are to sell and survive. I am not talking about an iPhone app, I am talking about tools. IBM, still sells tools for many industries, for now. These SMEs make these things work as well as possible. I hope they come around and realize how important this actually is.
