Correction to the post regarding the "up to an extra $600."

The $600 is automatic, fully funded with no averaging. The only caveat is how much each and every state kicks in first with their usual amounts.

Some will get more than their usual pay.

Here in Arizona, the UI maximum is $240, we rank just above Mississippi, 50th for the lowest benefits. Gotta luv living in a red state.

Yes, why do some keep coming back despite having - i.e., supposedly - moved on to other opportunities??

I sure won't be wasting my time on here once I'm no longer employed with BBB. Why continue to wallow in the past if you are happy with your current life? Glad you found something better, move on.

Bloody Thursday is what we’ve always called them. I’m so glad I left.

The up to an extra $600, does not allow someone to get more than what they were averaging before.

I'm assuming the email will tell us everything. It goes out at 2 tomorrow. Conference call is probably just for questions

Actually, under the CARES act, unemployment insurance is retroactive to your furlough date, you get a lump sum including processing time, this way people will not be screwed out of benefits for a week or more.

With the additional $600/week the feds are adding to unemployment benefits, many people will make more money being furloughed than they will actually going to work. That’s certainly why so many companies are making the decision to furlough everybody. The thing I’m most curious about is how long Bed Bath will pay health insurance benefits for full timers, if at all.

Here in California unemployment insurance is 450 a week, so with the 600, it would be 1050. How many full timers actually make 2100 every paycheck. Take the furlough. This last for four months, and if this last more than four months, we’re all screwed. Take the furlough ASAP, it still takes a week to get unemployment and probably much longer now. Stay safe.

Under the circumstances, mass furloughs for the vast majority of associates is probably the best we can hope for. No company can afford to keep paying employees for long when the stores are closed. Furloughs will allow everyone who qualifies to apply for unemployment (and the enhanced unemployment benefit under the federal covid relief act provides an additional $600 per week above and beyond regular unemployment pay). I know it s—s, but it’s really the only option the company has if there is any chance of long term survival.

I agree with the furloughs, except for limited staffing at buybuybaby, harmon and cds stores at best.

May/June with higher temps can't come soon enough.

They are going to furlough everyone. Doesn't take a rocket scientist.
