The application asks for "Vacation Pay," "Severance Pay," and "Other Pay" (which includes bonuses). I have yet to receive my severance paperwork, so Macy's is literally preventing me from completing this application. Also, I still don't know what my bonus will be (albeit deferred), so should I even enter it in the form? It's an earned bonus, so I assume they will eventually have to pay it out... Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

So here’s question I was a flex employee no schedule no set hours but for year my daily average was 6.25 a day. So If my calculations were close to what I think I will get its around 230.00 a month is that worth the hassle trying to even figure out how to file. I was actually laid off around 3 weeks ago with all the part time employees. That amount can help me out with grocery $. But I will still eat if I don’t file. Ugh
i called unemployment over 600 times. yes, 600
cant get through
I filed before we were officially furloughed based on reduced hours .. still have not gotten paid...
my file is pending still... how can I change from reduced hours to furlough/no hours??
There is not option on the website for this and I can get through to anyone? Please help
People that have been furloughed - DO NOT BELIEVE what you read on a web blog post site. Period.
Do your own research - do not let someone else do your work for what if that information is not what your situation is.
Go to your state's unemployment web page and read up on the unemployment benefits for the COVID 19 issues. A lot of normal rules have changed due to this situation. Also this situation is fluid and rules may change every day.
Take the time research and then apply - yes apply. You wait you will lose time and money.
You must take charge of you own situation. Don't rely on anyone else to do it for you.
You can file an unemployment after one month If you are waiting for the severance check base on lay off in Feb. otherwise you can file next week 4/5/2020
If you are in Georgia and you are getting a severance package there is no need to apply for unemployment. You will not receive benefits until your money runs out.
New York- From what I understand you apply the week you officially do not have work or PARTIAL work. So let’s say today is your last day, you can apply any day this week. If your pay this week is more then $500 then you have to wait and apply Monday. The faster the better so you don’t miss any payments.
As for the pto and holiday Macy’s is no longer paying this (from what I understand). Fill out the application basically stating you will be getting no additional funds. If you do then you will update your application accordingly later on since you have to update every week.
You supposed to start on Thursday to apply at least that’s what our PL told us they were told to tell us.
i wrote no.. since I don't expect any more pay (severance, PTO, etc)
You were furrlowed
Just reference that as their was no Vacation pay, severance or compensation offered at the time of furrlow
Sorry your going thru this
File after four months ...
Call your state's unemployment office they will be able to tell you how to handle this reporting. Usually,
you do not report the income until received.
