No point getting worked up over health insurance. Dean Foods health insurance plans aren't going to be available to offer because there won't be a Dean Foods to offer them. Outside of a few plans run by unions (Central States Health and Welfare being one) the insurance offered by most companies is interchangeable with most of the plans that Dean Foods was offering. Hardly any differences at all except that not many companies are making it as hard as Dean Foods tried to make it to actually use your insurance.
Pensions on the other hand are totally different. Yeah, try and play hard ball over pensions and see where that gets you. No company is going to agree to start contributing to a severely underfunded pension plan. UPS was the single biggest contributor to the Central States plan and even though they're in great financial shape they paid billions to get out of the Central States plan.
We people didn't pay millions to have Ralph leave or give eric millions to stay around till company got sold !!! Can you be that dumb? Sure hope not!!

I'm glad we have a stable company behind us know at least I can stop worrying about what's going to happen.
Some times you have to stand up for what is right and fight if they want to close good luck i for one hopes the sale does not happen let the Doj step in and take over. I am only a 7 year union man but i know alot of guys that are only 1year or so from getting there pension now they will have to wait for 10years in tell they are 60. It's time to stop being walked on by big companys.
Millions of unemployed Americans are looking for work, Not the best time to try and play hardball with the CBA. The days of making big money with great benefits may have to come to an end.
I hope the Ibt and all the union shops tell DFA to stick it. They want to buy Deans and get rid of are pensions and go on there heath care plane I would never vote for that. Let someone eles buy deans or shut the doors.
You guys are crazy. DFA and Prairie Farms/Hiland are top notch companies. Take some time look at their web sites. I have talked to people that work for them. Relax and take it in stride.
Management needs to manage NOT rob the company blind and give bonuses for ineptness
Should’ve just waited a couple more months and gone Chapter 7. The government will bail out the pensions. Generous healthcare is another thing. We know the healthcare system is broken. DFA, Prairie and other buyers need to competitive wages but can’t afford to overpay.
Your job is not going to be worth keeping when DFA takes over.
