Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Here's where the buck should stop

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/25/lowes-ceo-marvin-ellison-says-sales-have-been-up-during-coronavirus-pandemic.html

It's about $$$. Not our safety. We need to stand up and demand accountability. A better, cleaner, safer work environment to start. Then we can move on to wages, training, work-life balance. Everyone who steps foot in a Lowe's store, not to mention ANY retail establishment is of higher risk for contracting this deadly virus. Believe what you will about what's going on here. But what's more important? Are you willing to risk everything you've worked for to service the pocket of the man who is at the helm and should be protecting you? Short term gains for long term risk. That's backwards in my opinion.

“In their minds...” ?!?!

You don’t speak for me Marvin. You don’t get to tell the media what I think. This is different than a hurricane or a tornado or any of that stuff. Those are temporary, people are able to help each other, and it has a finite end. This has none of those.

This isnt putting a neighbors house back together. This is protecting our lungs from ceasing to function. You have done absolutely nothing to protect us from it. You just take take take.

Don’t you ever try to speak for me as an employee again. Don’t you ever try to tell anyone what we think. You have no idea what any of us is going through on the front lines and you don’t give a sh–. You don’t speak for me on any level. Arrogant a–hole.

Spare us your bootstraps speech. This is chump change to the executive who take 99% of the profits that are created because of us. Get back to licking their boots or get off your knees and stand with the rest of us in the trenches. Your call.

I have worked for Lowe's for 13 years. Given this company what I've got. I've been a CSA in multiple departments, FSA, Department Manager, to Support Manager, to LTL stocker/receiver, back to Department Supervisor. I recently said enough, and stepped down again. I know what you are thinking. "This person couldn't hack it." That actually, is furthest from the truth. What is truth, however, is the mis-management within this corporation. It's extremely sloppy. I've worked so many different positions because I've been asked to. I've been told "what I bring to my team is immeasureable". This is a day of reckoning. A choice. With my tenure, I don't want to give up and start over somewhere. Actually, y'know what? I do. The way this is being handled is a direct reflection of what's been given vs. what has been taken. Any long timer I know feels the way I do. Stand up for yourself. And no I am not a whiny millenial baby. Quit the insults. Grow a brain, and stand up for yourself.

Speaking of bucks, if you are at home on a two week extended to four week vacation on the company dime you should be excluded from the $300 or $150 payment on the 31st. Those still in the stores should be the only ones getting the payment, the others haven’t earned it.
