Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Dear HR: Please stop the 5/10/15/20/25 year gift stupidness!

This is really not related with the current crises. Someone in the HR decided to outsource the 5/10/15/20/25 year anniversary gift giving to an outside company. You can, literally, have to choose one of may "totally c-ap" stuff as your gift. None of them has any resellable retail value (believe me, I checked them one by one on ebay). There is no gift card option. Everything is c-ap! Anything you choose will add to the trash for your home/city/state/country/earth.

I don't know whose idea this was. Can someone from human resources just send a $20 target or a restaurant gift card (to US employees, and similar gift cards for non-US?). How much are we paying this company???

Exactly. A manager could easily just give their people each a prepaid visa on their anniversary. Or just buy them lunch even.
No need to waste money outsourcing this so people get junk gifts. It's just indicative of typical money wasting.

OP is talking about the wasted money by outsourcing this process that could easily be handled in-house. And look how people below understand this! Yes, I am sure OP is crying about the $3 gift at times when he or she could lose her job!!!

This person has a good point and it ties to the current situation in that it is wasted money.

Even a $10 gift card would be better than the junk offered. Getting $1 per year of service would be totally awesome.
