This company will not last much longer and if they do I pity the fools that will be working for them.
Of course I want to work, but I work at an airport location and it was stressful enough that I asked to use vacation time and was on it when the furlough came. I am completely in agreement with the person who said they were thankful. Sure others are paying their employees a weekly salary, but I highly doubt that will continue for months. If they do, I am happy for them. For all those who work at Hertz, you already knew the company was hurting before this. This is a way to keep us covered in health insurance, still collect unemployment, and possibly have a job to return to when it is over. Negativity promotes negativity. If you think your loss of income is bad, imagine food service who rarely get medical coverage or that their unemployment will not amount to anything unless they truly claimed their tips. There is a lot of good and bad, including corruption, at most companies. Pick your battles and your employment. For all of you complaining, the option is yours to terminate now and see who will pick you up and do better by you. Gives them more capital to work with and less chance of bankruptcy. For the record, I am not financially secure. I live paycheck to paycheck and do not have a spouse to supplement my loss of income, but I am most definitely thankful for what I am getting. Stay safe and good luck.
If we are not coming back to work by April 10th. I do appreciated if Hertz continued it furlough.
I'm starting the process of looking for a company that cares about people who work for them.
Don’t wait for a call back as this company has been in the red for years!!!
It has been a cash cow for the leaders of Hertz.
Unless you are a personal friend of the CEO don’t expect to retain your employment.
Unfortunately, it is a toxic, fear based, unprepared, and unprofessional company.
I feel sorry for the true hardworking and dedicated employees that are now out of a job.
If this company was not operating in the red for decades they may have had a better outcome.
HR and accounting has been turning blind eye for too long!
You understand enterprise closed most their stores
FYI - you lose “ALL BENEFITS” if you apply and obtain unemployment
This is another example of a Poorly run company. When you do not save anything for a rainy day stuff like this happens. DO you think having 17 Billiion in debt is a well run company. Think again, open your eyes and face reality. Companies like Hertz so poorly run for decades does not deserve to stay in business. Giving dividands and bonuses when they should not have been given. They have wasted, and squandered for years and now it is simply catching up with them.. They got rid of pensions but not for the executives 6 years ago. And Kathy not taking a paycheck right now, big deal. She just puts everything on her business Amex anyway and pays for nothing in her personal life. Anyone who thinks Executives at Hertz care are a bunch of goats.
Better safe than sorry. Your health is more important.
I get that you are upset, but the company temporarily laid you off. The company is paying for ALL THE BENEFITS. Would you rather see a location close and everyone get laid off? Hertz is doing their best to try to stay afloat. There travel industry has been hurt so hard. At least this is hopefully temporary and that we still have our benefits FOR FREE. I am extremely tha nkful for that.
