Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Dear Management: Please cap all salaries at or under 250K

Capping all upper management salaries at 250K will probably save hundreds of US jobs and/or thousands of non-US jobs. If any manager/VP/SVP thinks he/she is worth more than that, he or she can find a job > 250K, and then Sabre can match it. But I really don't think anyone, including myself, is worth more than 250K. Success of a company is mainly from market conditions, not from "talented managers".

So please: Cut your salaries to 250K. Believe me, 250K salary is enough for you, for your kids, for your spouse, and for the mortgage of a very nice large house in DFW area. Just don't be greedy at this kind of economy!

what manager makes 250 ?
my old comp was 1/2 that.
My new comp is inline at the "Sr." levels.

I knew Sr. Directors that are at that level and certainly above that but not the mgr level.

Only c—roaches will survive just as they have for years. Talented employees will be let go and the worthless who s— up to managers will survive. This is the difference between Sabre and 1A

A better idea is to pay VCP in stock. Give everyone some skin in the game, not just the managers.

Terrible idea. Sabre often uses the phrase "getting and retaining top talent." Unfortunately they only play lip service to this. Compare sabre salary and benefits to companies that actually do want to attract top talent and you'll see how mediocre sabre is. The result is mediocrity across the board, from management to sales to dev. If one believes top talent yields success the last thing you want to do is to lower salary (and benefits) even more.
