Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

It’s time to move on.

We get it, you hate Hertz. But maybe instead of acting like you’re over your crazy ex you actually get over it? It s—s what happened to us and I feel terrible for everyone involved, but no one could’ve anticipated the events that got us to this point. The company did what it had to do to even have a CHANCE to survive. Would it make you feel better if everyone lost their job? There are thousands of employees that still need their jobs to survive so maybe you root for them instead of being bitter towards the company.

No your wrong. Its not time to move on. There is a vault in Estero that all the Senior Leaders have a code to. They milked the cow dry with all the Six Sigma c-ap to hire friends, approved bogus expense accounts, and spent millions of dollars putting monkey CSRs in bad suits, and what about all the missing cars across every location. Gross incompetence at its finest. The Senior leaders just got their pay back due to the "hard work ahead"???? This is coming from our CEO that mocked the potential effect of COVID-19 in a townhall?? Company will be reduced in size by 60% in the next 9 months. There is no path forward. Taylor brands will now have 70% marketshare by 2023. Can't wait to see what the creditors do. They will want the $$$, and the actuaries know that COVID-19 will have a couple more spikes that will put Hertz out to pasture. Kathy needs to turn in the keys and take the walk of shame, Jamere should just take a job as a bank teller (maybe not he can't count), and Paul should just take a job as a assistant manager at Kmart (shoot they went out of business too). This is a complete circus and they are all clowns.

If you’re still on this thread complaining, you’re missing the point. ITS NOT ABOUT JUST YOU! Yes, it s—s you were laid off. But to wish the company goes up in flames with thousands of others losing their jobs in the process is ridiculous and selfish. If you think this company could survive all this without making these difficult decisions then you obviously haven’t held any sort of significant management role. You seem to think there’s a vault in Estero with billions just waiting to be thrown in a G-string by some GM. Got it, Karen.

And you’re right, it was a good opportunity to trim the fat. This site does a great job proving that.

Hertz played game Russian roulette and 2020 the grim reaper came to collect. The company if no covid19 was going to be in fight bc rideshare was hurting rental industry and company was in debt. Covid 19 just sped up process from most likely 2-3 yr cat and mouse bankruptcy to now 2-3 month window.

Take special ppl work rental car company ....we will be ok

Would it make me feel better if everyone lost their job?
What a stupid question. Who would say yes?

It would make me feel better if Senior Leadership and any other parasite who took advantage and wrecked Hertz over a 20 year period were held to account.

And that includes the current generation.
Where did they learn their trade?

There’s a societal issue here, that the senior leaders of many businesses are more focused on how much they can take than what they can create.

Time to change the rules - the system is broken, and America is the worst proponent of that system.

Omg thank you!! All the people on here whining 24/7 really just need to get off the internet and go have a drink. Sorry that you weren’t “favorited” but don’t blame the people who got to keep their jobs.

Post had it right. Very evil to let 12,000 employees go during a pandemic. Just saying.

Ok Kathy.....whatever you say. If the selection process for “what the company had to do” was fair, perhaps people would not be so bothered by the events that transpired. The problem is the loser GM s and other “senior” leaders saw this as their opportunity to cherry pick who would stay.

I speak for all of the hardworking employees that gave their all day in and day out to be tossed out unfairly like trash, when I say not only would we feel better if the most of the rotten lost their jobs, we are rooting for it. We don’t care that you need your jobs to survive just like there was no care shown to us.

I am confident that the best and brightest were tossed out. Why? These are the people who spoke up when things were wrong. These are the people who gave 110% and believed in hard work not kissing a– to get promotions. We will be just fine.

As far as us being “bitter” toward the company, let’s see how you feel when you loose your ability to survive during a pandemic.
