Hey guys,
My store is not open but some colleagues are there to run bops and fulfillment. We are being told that we will be off Memorial Day but still have to work 5 days that week. Tuesday-Saturday. Can someone confirm if this is part of the holiday policy?

Yes, you can be scheduked five days...you will be paid for the hours worked plus you will receive holiday pay (if you are eligible). If you happen to work on the holiday you would receive premium pay (paid time and a half) for the hours worked on the holiday plus you still receive holiday pay. Remember there are length of service requirements for both holiday pay and premium pay.
It's not being a sheep.... its understanding reality... if we dont stop moaning and groaning worried about days off and vacation time eventually there will be no company for many of us to come back to. Do I love the fact that macys has to open during a pandemic? No obviously not. I hope everyone is safe. What should we do? What should managment do? Some people may want to reconsider their jobs coming out of this. Retail is not getting any easier out there.
Well hope you don't infect any others as you spend time with them on Memorial Day..... No need to name call either.
Well not everyone wants to live like sheep’s. Some senior colleagues have been working since the shut down. Maybe some of us value the time we spend with our elder parents and loved ones who fought for this country and survived covid. Jackass
We are in the middle of a crisis people.... many colleagues still out on furlough. If I am asked to work memorial day I know I will.
Yes if they need you to work 5 days that week they can schedule you, regardless of whether you get the holiday pay day or not.
I feel like the holiday policy has gone out the window at this point
