How can I not feel sad about my store closing? Worked with Macy's for over two years and it is one of my first jobs. I was a dedicated and passionate associate and for what? To get an email in the morning that the store will be closing for good.

They never really gave Park Place a chance. As an associate there, they were always cutting hours for support associates and even the sales associates were having their hours cut. Constantly understaffing to the point a whole floor would not be staffed. They then eliminated LP, eliminated all the part timers on receiving, and eliminated the floor leads. What a sad way to see a store go.
Is Paradise Valley Mall closing as well? I knew park place was coming for some time.

It s—s and I would hate that with a first job. Used to be you get a job and could be with the company 25-35 years. Last I checked, the estimate was the average college grad will have 5-7 employers in their life but that was a while ago and prob higher now. Take what you've learned and find a better job.
From the email, it says " your store will reopen as a going out of business store"
Will your store be reopening or just staying closed? I am sorry to hear this.
It sounds like this has been expected since August. They still should’ve given more of a heads up.

By email??!! Thats wrong, they should have allowed the store manager time to reach out first. It's normal to feel sad, my store is a neighborhood store so our days are numbered, and even though I complain all day and all night long about Macy's, it is my first and only job (although many positions over the years), and I'm sure I will cry when the day comes. I've been almost 10 years and a lot happens in your life during that time. But don't feel sad too long, better things are coming for you, believe me.
Sorry to hear, thank you for your dedication to Macys. It is not good that they are closing but prob the right decision financially, just like what Nordstrom just did.
