Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Layoff's in Jacksonville Florida Today.

Jacksonville, FL acquired GE asset , valve manufacturing has been laying off people today. What I have witnessed and know from others is that they walked out so far roughly 20 + hourly and I was part of a meeting that 3 engineers were let go. Not sure of the total numbers , especially since most salary are working from home.

Another sneaky plot by GE sells off the valve manufacturing side a couple years after obtaining it. The place wasn't up to par with quality of welders from the rip with all the non-seasoned Tulsa students. Then you add management and HR into it and it's a total sh-t show.

Thank you TIFFANY from HR you and your team are the whole reason this happened. How about on you next job you leave the skilled workers alone and stop race catering.

I can bet anything it stated with that HR department and Brad. Spent some time with them before the merger with baker Huges. The outsource the major superheaters because they can't find the skill set in the area to build them. Watched many that was there when the doors open be walked out of them because of HR issues. The favor the minority employees and cr-p on the rest.

Sounds like the mismanagement was standard practice. MCOE in OKC was horrible. Only one manager had any manufacturing experience. Mostly purchasing. Sorry to hear that. Got me 6 weeks ago.

As an investor of this company, by c-apload of money too, it’s a bad thing to hear of employees layoffs, this is by far the dumbest decision any publicly traded companies do, I think it’s best to layoff the ceo’s and board of directors instead and retain employees so that orders and whatever else can be done and quarterly report be in great shape, I think it’s time for the president to sign executive order to stop employees layoff but do so with ceo’s and board members as oong as it’s not original founder of companies that’s traded publicly

I was one of the unfortunate ones. Based on my discussions, estimating about 40 let go. Mostly hourly, but again hard to know since so many people are working remote and they don't exactly like to share that information. It's not just bad grapes either, several experienced, valuable assets lost. Factory moved to 4-10 work weeks to cut costs. Did BH role out Microsoft Teams just so they could do layoffs with the video option? I wasn't even allowed to finish the 2 weeks, my access is removed after midnight and I have to schedule an appointment to go in and clear my desk... Great people, good pay/benefits, but the new Jacksonville facility has been a series of disappointments stemming from mismanagement and far removed corporate decisions. Best of luck to everyone struggling!
