Severance Packages

Anyone having any luck negotiating their small severance packages? With or without legal help? Are people having to file statement of claims?

Tomorrow will be 14 working days since our deadline to submit all paperwork advising how the severance amount should be dispersed. I would inquire with my HR Business Partner about the delay but she is completely useless. Get your sh– together Pembina and release the funds so we never have to think about this trashy company ever again.

I have received the portion I selected as cash payment, but not the RRSP portion. Hoping that will be soon.

always been curious as to the benefits of pushing back on a severance package, has anyone ever actually gotten more? Those forks know what they are doing, even if we don't like it.

Hi. No success here dealing with HR on my own after speaking with a lawyer. Same situation with others I have spoken to. My esteemed HR Business Partner sent pre-written responses to initial emails that evolved into 2-3 sentence replies that contradicted herself about Alberta labor laws and then seemed confused about the terms of my severance letter (early afternoon. Perhaps afternoon wine time? Pembina way!). I think if you are older and there is a significant amount of $ at stake, fight it... If not, put it into your RRSP and move on from this trashy organization. This venue (layoff.com) is unconventional but it finally gives us an opportunity to peel back the Pembina onion.. Without retribution.
