Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Don't wait to be laid off

If there was ever a time to be proactive about finding a new job, it is now. Being laid off is hard in general, but being laid off at a time like this??? This will be ten times harder.

So update your resumes and LinkedIn profiles. Leave as much money aside as you can. Call everybody and anybody who could help you with a tip or a referral. Just start doing something instead of simply waiting to be laid off.

What.... look and always be proactive. This company and the industry will no longer support a generation or generations like it did in the past. The Halliburton ways are too antiquated and to much politics envolved to support profitability coming out of CV19. Bet your a– there are major changes still on the horizon and the restructure will keep captains and generals and send infantry to their death.

The real deal is restructure has to be done. New and better ways to do the work accomplished. More focused managers and dedicated hands to see it through.

Update your resume!

Now is the time for us in our 20’s & 30‘s to get new skill sets & leave this industry behind not worth the brain 🧠 damage being layed-off in 2015 & now again in 2020. Halliburton we all love you😂-|-😂

HAL will continue to lay-off through the year. Q2 results will be worse than Q1’s and Q3 and Q4 are typically the worst 2 quarters. With capital budgets already slashed so Q3 and 4 revenues don’t have a foundation to carry the company for the year. I’d expected the layoffs to reflect the size of each quarters’s loss.

No, do the bare minimum, learn new skills, and be ready to jump the ship at 1st opportunity

While I admire your attitude. This is possibly the worst time since the Great Depression to look for a job. Worse than 2008-2009. Virtually no one is hiring and most likely no one will be hiring again until next spring when all this stuff goes away. Now is the time to hunker down, work hard, and IF it happens then start looking.
