Anything about another planned round of layoffs before summer?

there’s been more layoffs under McCarthy since 4-29?
McCarthy also assured survivors at CMT they were fine after that m—acre and survivors were cut anyway. Trust no one.
Chris McCarthy mentioned E&Y was done with layoffs but you can never say never. There’s a thought those in that division are safe until post quarantine times but also none of these people are trustworthy so plan accordingly.
Sounds like this has been a viacom culture for years. Not it's spreading to the cbs side.
When I joined Viacom (via a merger) 15 years ago the layoff culture of the company was already well established. I first heard about it years earlier from co-workers who had been laid off from Viacom before we worked together. The answer to the question, "Will there be more layoffs at ViacomCBS?", is and will always be "Yes." Plan accordingly.
Excellent post regarding layoff culture at viacomcbs
If you choose to work there you must accept this fact of your employment
Almost everyone leaves in a layoff
Its practically a right of passage
Theres no shame it in but dont complain about it either
Its the way it is and everyone knows it
what division did you work in? CBS or Via
understand there will be constant layoffs, some in big batches, some small trickles for foreseeable future. keep in mind all the planed pre pandemic layoff plans are still in place which they stated would be rolling over few years. add in pandemic situation, even more. also, many, many people will not be given heads up through WARN. they will cut loose as needed and add the WARN notice in severance. division I worked in, for 16 years, there was NEVER a warning when they laid off. come into work, escorted to HR, escorted out. they did not trust people enough around equipment to give advanced notice. they made it up in additional severance. there was culture of layoff fear the ENTIRE 16 years I was there. heads up of possible layoffs came from co-workers on your days off. this tactic was used very effectively to keep people fearful of speaking up about anything. unfortunately, you just have to assume your job is at risk......for the rest of your time with this company.
What divisions? Viacom or CBS side?
Please be specific. "I was told...late May and another round in late June" is not helpful.
I was told there would be a round in late May and another round in late June.
