Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

MCS Cincinnati

Reposting as this is still relevant to me and others: I work at MCS in downtown Cincinnati. Have been furloughed but haven’t heard when/if I will be called back. Some kind of update would be nice. Anyone heard anything? I wonder if this will accelerate or change plans for future move to Progress Place? Has anyone been called back from furlough yet at any MCS office

From what I can gather there are people that have been called back from SPACE, tax, real estate, accounting, and finance. Some of these people have been back from furlough for a week or two now. This may be a strong indication of how important a role is when more staffing decisions are made.

I heard today that several departments currently located at MCS in downtown Cincinnati have been called back beginning next Monday. There is hope!

I have had no communication as of 4/1/2020 regarding my status after being furloughed from P2. I'm afraid more cuts are coming.

Please relax. The stores have just begun to reopen. I think downtown and P2 will be some of the last to be brought back. I'm thinking around July 1. August 1 at the latest. Hopefully they'll continue to cover our health benefits.

With higher deductibles and lousy coverage!

Just a reminder that should anyone need to maintain insurance not wishing/able to utilize Cobra, you would be eligible to enroll in a plan on the health exchange at healthcare.gov under this circumstance. It will be at least half the price of Cobra.

Same goes for the call centers. They kept a few people on but with stores slowly reopening and at least in Ohio restrictions being lifted more each week for employers. I would expect them reaching out this week and at least giving some a target date after the 15th. There are many needing to keep their insurance in force without paying through the nose for COBRA. Unfortunately i don't think this will go well.
