worked in china before in shenzhen as a step between jobs.
If you layoff people in china, the china labor law forces a package .. it is 6 month of salary + medical and dental and etc and government forced incentives, like retirement and housing fund contribute, plus your past vacations .. that is if you work for lenovo for more than 3 years. ..
if you work for lenovo for 1 year or more, it is a smaller amount than 6 months..
this is on top of the Lenovo package.
it is called N+6.. the N is what the company gave you in month.
In china, people are not anxious after being laid off, even though there are no jobs and people still enjoy life, they could always go back to their parents and move to their native places instead of large cities, unlike the US, once laid off, it is like sky falling for many folks..
human relationships are also important, the fabric of society is built on relationship and these don;t go away after laid off and people turn to rebuild and bounce back very easily.. there is always something fun and to do there
