The loading dock is definitely a security issue. I am surprised there is not better corporate communication to all stores about this issue. Our store was robbed after hours and it was determined they came in through the loading dock.
We're getting hit daily with grab n go thefts......very few associates around.
I can top that at the Macy's I worked at, a loss prevention manager got arrested in the Macy's store for going to eat at Applebee's on his lunch break and walking out without paying the bill. LOL
Back in the early 2000s they busted a store manager for grand larceny, she would buy a real coach handbag and then return a fake one in its place, took a while but they got her.
True there are bad apples in the AP world, but when you add in "quotas", or to say you have to beat last years numbers, you too start looking for anything you can find. Macy's just can't get it right. AP is not the place to earn merit increases for catching more employees doing something wrong than last year or catching more shoplifters. You just become more of a dic—ad.
I welcome Robinhood styled robbin of Macy's ...
Ha. In my “ career” at Macy’s. I saw 3 loss prevention guys get fired for steal. One quality they all had was being very Overzealous. They thought everyone was stealing. The first one was taking money out of a register on a overnight watch he used associates numbers who wasn’t even working to get in. . He then got caught stealing hugh boxes of underwear lol. The 2nd one was taking small amounts of money some how over a long time Period . He got caught . The 3rd was a girl lp. She too her job way to seriously ! She would get shop lifters in the back and then robbed them of money ! Some shoplifter lawyer up and she got caught. My take is. If you’re a bad apple at M , you will get caught. ! And thank god they did.
It could be an inside job, last year I was shopping at a Macy’s outside Chicago, and when I got to the resister to check out the item rang up $20 more than the price on the tag, the clerk had to call a manager, and when they manager came over it was a lady that was fired for theft when she worked for me at TJ MAXX (I was a loss prevention manager), she stole over $7,000 worth of clothing by switching price tags on more expensive items. I hope Macy’s knows they have a felon as a manager.
