Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Worried About New Changes

Is anyone else that has been called back to work worried about the new changes to staffing Belk has made? We now have the new One Belk, where everyone does everything from unloading/processing truck, fulfillment, and ringing customers. Store hours are 12-6 and our shifts are all 10:30 to 6:30. They did not call back enough people to even begin to properly run the store. Everyone including management is overworked and stressed. Is this just occurring because of limited hours or is Belk really hurting for money? The stock rooms are overflowing with merchandise, the sales floor is full of clearance and spring merchandise with little room for new summer goods.
It doesn't feel the same after coming back. Granted things weren't great to begin with but this is much much worse. Am I wrong to be worried that something bad is going to happen sooner rather than later?

SC stores had random merch in freight boxes strewn all along aisles alongside rails and rails of clothes as far as the eye could see. Stock rooms, loading dock and other processing areas were jam-a-cram full of clearance, seasonal and new merch, and even the closed fitting rooms had stashes within. What a mess!

If you work in cosmetics, visual, home department or are one of the store managers' pets, you will not have to do "everything", as they say. The privileged few only direct customers to various areas, do entry counts and, maybe, take temperature at the door with a clicky thingy. They do not handle any dirty work, like cleaning departments, any lifting (heavy or otherwise), touching money and dirty wrap stands, cleaning restrooms or handling filthy returned merch. And they sure as heck don't pack online orders. Spoils the nails, y'know?

Nor, do those porcelain dolls have to unload trucks or process merch, sweep, collect garbage, sanitize doors and carts or answer phones.

The end is near, Mr. Sanford!
