Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Why is European leadership silent?

Nothing from Angela Brav.
Nothing from the Country Leaders.
I am lucky because I have a great manager who keeps me informed.
But I want to hear from our leaders, because I know that our financial position is fully broken, and I know then are going to fire us all but they are too ashamed to communicate.

Agility - Ability to think and understand QUICKLY

Effective - Successful in producing a desired or intended RESULT.

What a F Hypocritical statement to make we should be agile and effective you have been neither since you arrived and during this time your inability to be either agile or effective is what you will be remembered for.

And care for our customers and employees I feel another cupcake coming before the storm?

Can you please become both agile and effective and then we will follow....Until then please STFU, resigning is the most effective path you can pursue.

Look on your MyPerformance and work it out...
Louis Mari is Monsieur France.
Francisco is the excellent Mr. Spain
Movie maker is Mr. Italy
And we all know who the most important person in the Middle East is...
Mrs “If you want to dance in the rain, you must trust the storm” Germany.

Who and who? Do they work for Hertz Europe?

I strongly disagree that all our leaders fall in the same category. Would love to see a European company run by Louis Mari (Commercial, Finance, Pricing) and Francisco Marturet (Fleet, Operations, Multibrand). With enough cross-over between them and in-depth knowledge to transact and transform into the so often quoted "iconic" brand.

They satisfy all the criteria and nobody, nobody would ever question their pedigree or use derogatory language to describe them. They know who to surround themselves with (movie maker or most successful woman in the Middle East don't stand a chance). They are respected, no BS decision makers and employees will be proud to work for Hertz again.

LOL about the shafting. now i understand why we get told to “keep pushing.” thorn by thorn, in it goes.

on a more serious note, redundancy depends on what you do. the company (revenue, branches, fleet, functions) will be smaller. without a shadow of a doubt. so people will be made redundant. if you are hands on, operational and customer facing, you have a better chance of remaining than say a director learning&development.

payment in case of redundancy depends on how and when. the ship that sailed was refuse furlough and would have been maximum possible payout. company may still decide to pay same amount if it starts reducing headcount while being solvent, but it is hertz. worst case is the corporation pulling all other local companies into creditor protection and employees getting minimum legal settlement in the name of restructuring.

Do you think they will make us redundant? Will we get any redundancy? Seems like the government won’t step in to pay redundancy unless company is insolvent.

It’s the strategy of incompetent scum.
Non-achievers that don’t understand basics and think ignoring payments is equal to a benefit, but all they have done is prolonged the inevitable.
Ethically shady wannabes only worried about themselves.
“Leaders” with no knowledge and ability - you give them an executive summary that a 10 year old would understand and they ask for more details. After giving all details in powerpoint version 132 (at this stage a 6 year old has understood), it is now too detailed and the only feedback is to change colour and width of the table on slide nine.
And let’s not forget the cherry on top: individuals with the compassion and empathy equivalent to being shafted with a barbwire lined cricket bat. On good days.

They are waiting for someone to file against them in each country, they have not paid any bills since Jan because Feb prior to Covid-19 was such a disaster they help back payments.

So let’s assume no supplier no service provider has been paid since Jan it’s only a matter of time, also today I learned they are not going to be paying the rents anywhere without negotiating just stop paying.

So they are waiting for someone to react and the outcome of the consultants, either way you can’t expect everything to be the same as before the industry is devastated no one is flying summer season will be a disaster obviously they are waiting to be told what to do and when.

What are the international leadership team waiting for? Surely if they can hire consultants upon consultants and pay the US leadership team their full pay amid “heavy” workload, there really isn’t a cash flow issue?

Gave up expecting honesty in the last town hall while singing Sweet Caroline, Having my Bonus wiped out while she said, I care about you, then the Coffee Chats where she made rude remarks about Kathy and Tracey and stated how much better she was. Followed with cupcakes the Irish ☘️ lunch and her obsession with Coffee!!!

In 6 months no strategy, ideas, marketing went back to boring, picnic tables vanished seems like it was all about her entitled rich American..

Kathy must off had a lobotomy prior to hiring her, or perhaps it was Murali’s decision realised it then done one, thing is it can be fixed but it seems she could not care less if we sink or not probably can’t wait so she can leave, news please do soon we can have a whip round for your ticket 🎫.........

Response to your question: because they are incompetent.
I suggest you stop expecting any honest, constructive information from the management. As for a strategy to adopt, you might as well go play the lottery where you'd have more chance to win than to hear a decent strategy.

Lies about how wonderful the staff is will pour like prayers in a church. But everyone is on its own now.
Obviously the layoffs will be numerous.
Just be prepared.

At least your manager is keeping you up to date! My manager has told me nothing and no communication since when we were told that we would be put on furlough!

They are probably just waiting to s*@^w us over. Waiting until the best time get rid of a load of us with as minimum payment as possible, while keep their full pay and benefits.

Same as the furlough in the UK. We weren’t told that we had a choice whether to accept it or not. We were just told that we would be put on furlough. No communication that our employment terms will vary etc etc.

Nothing from the country leaders as well, at least my country. Silence and quiet. Shame on everybody, Snr mgmt should say something even if it was ‘guys we’re facing bankruptcy, be prepared!’
Nope, business as usual...

Angela Brav has no idea what to do, 90 days did nothing post Covid she’s almost 6 months in now and still nothing.

It’s mad nothing no communication, no interaction with employees Furlough and not Furlough Rafael is hopeless as a leader always has been no backbone just nods and agrees with whom ever is in the seat and I assume the GMs are silenced..

New CFO is he even still here?

Unfortunately we have the worst crisis in history combined with the most ineffective management in International history, it’s a bomb waiting to explode and we are all going to be the casualties, who ever is reading this come on do something because AB is basically doing nothing..we won’t be here for the engagement survey Hertz was amazing last year what actually happened??

When is the next employee voice survey?
Normally they give us cakes and lies just before the survey. This is when you will get information.
