Where to begin: they made up positions for the higher ups friends to occupy, a dept full of "trainers" at the call cntr that hadnt been on the phones in 10+ yrs nor had even taken a call in the dept they were "training" people for, the fraud running through the u.s. mainly back east of USAA fake members that rent cars for their own uber service that mgmt has turned a blind eye on for yrs all for the sake of pumping #s but yet losing profit, taking majority of coupons away from customers in order to boost revenue, outsource calls to the phillipines , guadalajara or jamaica which gives subpar service at best.....avg call takes about 20min but hey im sure they make $3 bucks an hr so who cares, will put people on the phones with no experience in dept to learn as you go...too many to list but way more than this...this is not the way you run a company...as the ship is sinking, they opted to not keep the best of the best...you have employees that could care less about booking a res, the best performers are sitting at home laid off or furloughed until june 12th....again those up top are not making the best decisions to keep the company going....the ship is sinking...get out while ya can!!!!

Like most still viable stalwart companies that lose their way. They have been poorly run for decades, this includes not having enough cash on hand to deal with eventual black swan events like Corona-19. Think about it, a still flourishing viable industry, with a company started in 1918 and they still doesn't have enough cash on hand to last 3-4 months? It screams mismanagement, I'm sure the original owner (Jacobs) would have never allowed the company to get so perilously close and vulnerable to bankruptcy. Like many companies that become corporate, the replacement upper management (and their successors) doesn't have any real passion for the business, they see it as a printing press and how they can improve their personal situation and that often is at the expense of the company, making the company more vulnerable. Then in an effort to save the jobs of the company the management is allowed to remain around under the bankruptcy restructuring. Imagine that the very people in charge when it went bankrupt are the people who are suppose to re-engineer the company in such a way that it will be profitable and viable again. This should never be allowed. One has to ask themselves can these same people who are at least partially responsible for its collapse really be all that essential in the repair/rebuild and if so what does that say about them and their business acumen and morals. If this were a dying industry it would be understandable but it isn't however, now the bounce back isn't likely to be robust as the expansion wave (which is often bigger do to lack of competition in the early years) has passed.
dont be too fast getting out because you wont get huge free checks sitting at home, hertz a–holes will fight you
Well there’s no highly paid people at Hertz. Employees that work in operations are fed a dream of promotion but salary changes by 50 cents. Hertz culture is all about overworking their employees. So I don’t see anybody coming back to work anytime soon despite management saying otherwise.
You mention "the best performers are sitting at home laid off or furloughed until june 12th". What is the significance of June 12th? Is that when Hertz said they would begin to call people back? The company entered into a forbearance agreement with debtholders for certain loan repayments which will expire on May 22. They have to come up with a solid financial recovery plan by then. From what I've read, Hertz leadership couldn't plan squat. They've already stated no new cars for the fleet this year. How will they afford payroll and benefits? Why bring higher paid furloughed/laid off employees back when they can just pluck new flunkies from the swollen ranks of the unemployed and pay them a lower beginner's wage. If it were me, I wouldn't be waiting around on them. They've showed their hand. Employees are nothing but numbers on a balance sheet to these people. No loyalty whatsoever. I agree with you that the ship is sinking and to get out while you can.
