Wondering if it is safe for now. I had an interview lined up with them before the pandemic as a data scientist. Should I still pursue it?

Energy Service Group is all Halliburton.. we are a energy service company.... Hence the acronym ESG
Energy Service is an accounting designation nothing more. The majority of the company is under the Halliburton Energy Services designation so yes thousands under that umbrella have been let go.
With inevitable attrition, there will be openings. Apply, you have nothing to loose.
I bet the interview will be cancelled because with RIF’s happening typically all open job req’s are closed

Data scientist wanting to pursue O&G? There's way too many industries that actually have a proper future that I'd consider before I went cap in hand to any oil related company, same for any other IT discipline.
