Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

The Masks Make It Hard To Breathe

We should be allowed to drop the mask when we’re not with a customer & get some fresh air/oxygen!!!!!!!

Especially if there’s no one within 6 ft.

Many people don't know how to wear the mask, I had a customer pull his mask up everytime he would start talking to me and I wanted . The point of the mask is to stop the droplets from your mouth and nose, pulling it up to talk make the mask pretty useless. YOu release the droplets when you talk and sneeze and cough. I do wonder though because if you do get the virus on your mask from another person you you pretty much are inhaling it all day long instead just the few moments you are incontact with them.

Stop being a baby and just wear the damn thing.

If you’re truly having that hard of a time breathing in it then you shouldn’t even be working at Lowe’s. Talk to your healthcare provider about getting some oxygen. Especially if you’re wearing those paperthin masks that Lowes gave us, if you can’t breathe through that then you definitely should not be working in retail.

As for all of you try to politicize the mask thing, cut the c-ap and get back to work. Nobody wants to hear your whining.

I find that bringing in carts from the lot is an effective way of getting fresh air since management at my store tells us that corporate is watching to make sure we have masks on. We even have to have them on when we leave the store even though we are 6 feet apart. I go out and get carts from the far end of the lot frequently. This pisses off a few in my department, I tell them they too can get carts but they never do.

This has the added advantage of being seen as a team player. At my store a team player is someone who does someone else’s work for them.

It’s been confirmed the virus has been with us since last fall.

We’ve been working with no mask for months. We’re exposed daily during that time and still have NO virus!!!

We’ve had 2 people in our store who caught it and returned to work after 2 weeks. That’s less than 1% of of the workforce. Masks at this point are a political show and nothing more!

That's not how this works. The microdroplets you exhale stay in the air for hours and hours. Same goes with what everyone else around you exhales. Dropping the mask is a bad idea you should be doing to drink water or blow your nose.

Management in our store are lax about masks, as long as you have one hanging around your neck your fine. Otherwise I would be taking unpaid time off until this is over. Can’t breathe and have tried many different kinds.
70% of our customers don’t wear masks and the whole thing now is like putting on a condom after you already had s-x. Why bother!
