Got a cold call from my boss’ boss’ boss because my boss and his boss had been let go already and it was up to the big boss to lay off all of us low level employees.
Cold-called
Meeting request from an upper manager who is high up enough to generally avoid interacting with us. Did not list HR on the call.
No meeting invite. They called me bright and early before I had a chance to get myself a cup of coffee. If you're working from home they'll send you a prepaid fedex package that you put your stuff in and send it back
Done. I had a good run, and consider myself fortunate. I've been employed in work I usually liked for forty years. This is my first layoff.
