Mask rule not enforced

NY store with still rising covid counts in the county. Sign on door states that all customers must wear a mask. Store manager and ASM run away when customers come in without a mask. They refuse to question the customer. Those of us on the floor still have to deal with these Corona jerks.

The CDC and NY are full of ch**t!!!
Cases have been dropping, and its all hype anyway. Lies! Media propoganda.

There is no covid, and if there is something going around its nothing. Only the elderly,
and pre-existing lung or pulmonary people are at risk. Everyone else shrugs it off like a cold.

So stfu, stop spreading BS and propaganda, and stop ratting people out you snitch.

Im in Rockland county, and management DOES enforce masks. You and your store just s—.

If you think about it I think that leaves lowes open to lawsuits! If we catch it even wearing a mask, mandatory for employees, and lowes does not enforce customers then we can sue due to its state law. Lowes is putting employees at risk! We are not cleaning anymore!!! Too busy!

I’m in PA and the same thing is happening. I approached two customers and asked if they knew of the universal masking requirement. This was on the day that it took effect and I was concerned for the safety of all in the store since my store is in a county with one of the highest covid 19 counts in the state.

The customer took offense at being asked this and complained. I then had a sit down with two managers who told me it was not my place to tell (their words) the customer that they had to wear a mask. I countered by saying it was my intent to inform the customer of the requirement for their protection as well as mine and for all the other customers and associates in the store as well as the community at large. They finish my making the veiled threat of reviewing the incident with the store a manager and documenting it in time to talk.

These same spineless managers also will do nothing when pervert contractors say inappropriate things to young female cashiers. It seems that Lowe’s allows customers to behave anyway they want and won’t say a thing to them. If these young girls say anything in their defense (I’m young enough to be your granddaughter or daughter, I’m sure your wife would like to know, I don’t think a bikini is appropriate to wear to work) they too are called on the carpet.

This is why customers act they way that they do; they know they can get away with it.

I may not tell them to leave, but if they come near me I will be walking the other way. I refuse to help selfish people that put others lives on the line.

I work in a NY store and I can tell you that per Lowe’s policy we have to have the signs up be we do not and will not enforce the mask rule. It says plainly in the email that “the governors order is silent on store action” we are not to tell anyone to leave because of the mask rule.
