For more than a day or two, for safety reasons? If so, what are the consequences?

If you're going to be off, call the store and call off for that day as sick. Sick call ins give you that day plus 2 additional days for the same occurrence. If you're wanting to be off for the pandemic, you need to apply for it through Sedgwick - otherwise you're going to have those absences counted against you. 7 absences in a 365 day period is a write up. Seasonal employees are terminated after first write up. No Call/No Show counts as 2 write ups and 2 of those = termination. Hope that helps.
You have to get 5 no call no shows to get fired! Heard you can take off and not get in trouble because the job is hazardous at this time.
No call no show!
GOODBYE!!
You should call in if at all possible. Things are tough all over but when you don’t come in we all have to work harder.
well sure if you go from minimum wage job to minimum wage job. Once you get to big boy employment you don't even need to list Lowes.
On another subject - it was so fun to watch the sm at abingdon, md break into tears when a customer laid into her today. girls is a loser!
Be sure you call in to the asm or mod and speak to them so you can explain your situation. Ensure you do this two hours before your shift. Ensure you log the time you called and who you speak with. Otherwise you are looking at job abandonment at which point you are very likely to be terminated and listed as non rehirable. In most states that serves as a disqualification for benefits including unemployment
Becareful and think hard about what you choose to do
It is called job abandonment and you will be fired. In most states you can not collect unemployment when you leave.
Just to know what I might be looking at.
