I’m assuming the Big Lots comment is sarcasm? Lol, because if Big Lots is considered one of Bed Bath’s major competitors then BBB is in a lot worse shape than I expected.
Don’t be worried, one of bbb major competitors is hiring-big lots needs mgrs.
Apply now.
So someone posts an intelligent, accurate and well-worded comment and it has to be a BBB corporate troll? Think again. Some of us actually know what we’re talking about and try to actually post helpful information here instead of gossip, conjecture and false rumors.
of course the BBB corp trolls are here thats what makes this site so entertaining LOL BBB trolls and a$$ kissers are the ones always posting "oh theres an update coming" yet no or oh these ppl will be laid off yet no lol i need good entertainment in my day LOL
So, you don’t think bbb trolls this site?
Always beware the “company sponsored” answers and comments.
If you have been furloughed and received the email regarding the CSR opportunity, you will NOT lose your unemployment benefits should you choose not to apply. Previous comments are correct, this is an “opportunity” not a job offer. As long as you don’t refuse to return to your original job when the furlough period ends, you will continue to qualify for unemployment benefits. Most states have enacted emergency rules to cover the unique circumstances brought about by the pandemic. Thus, most states will consider you to be actively seeking employment as long as you are willing and prepared to return to work when your employer reopens.
I am not an HR professional, but I do play one on TV.
That is a tough one. I make over $13/hr also and barely make ends meet so to take hit would not be good. I'm in Texas and have yet to get an email. Reddit always seems to have good threads for info about your question, if it'll effect your unemployment or not.
At Bed Bath & Beyond, we are concerned for your well-being and hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time.
Although many positions within the company have temporarily been furloughed, the Supply Chain is busier than ever fulfilling the needs of our customers. I am emailing you today because the Customer Service Contact Centers have a unique opportunity for you to temporarily join us during your furlough.
The role we have available is the CSR (Customer Service Representative) role. This role is a work from home, remote position and requires a quiet work environment and wired, high speed internet. CSRs assists customers over the phone with their online orders and inquiries. All computer equipment will be provided, you just need to provide the internet and quiet work environment. We are flexible with scheduling; you may work between 16 to 40 hours weekly. This temporary role is compensated at $13.00 per hour.
If you are interested in learning more about the roles and temporarily joining our team until you return to your store, please call or email the HR Contact listed below. As a current associate, you will receive preference over any external candidate who applies for these roles.
It states in the email that it is a “job opportunity” not and offer. I don’t think that we will lose unemployment if we don’t apply. Posting the email
So if everyone got the email to work for ecom remote customer service and not respond to the job offer, then no one gets unemployment?
I don't consider it a job "offer", more or a job "opportunity".
Yes if you are allowed to come back to work and refuse...your unemployment $ would disappear.
Do you mind copying that email on to here?
