Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

What about prairie farms

Any inside scoop on the plants that were purchased by prairie farms?? Are they gonna come in and cut routes, shutter plants, etc... I was worried at first when dfa passed us over, I do feel somewhat better about prairie.. been with deans a long time, never imagined it would come to this.. I wish everyone here the best.. milkman, branch mgr, southeast us.. ✌️

What about the layoffs at prairie farms memphis? What happened there? Any warning signs months beforehand? Or no warning signs and an abrupt closure? Any reasons given why the plant was closed?

Then why have separate entities?

lol prairie farms have multiple joint ventures with DFA. prairie farms is essentially an extension of DFA. They are just trying to trick the DOJ into thinking DFA will not have antitrust issues because there is a "third party buyer" for certain assets.

Is Hiland separate from Prairie or is it their operating arm? I guess Hiland primarily gets their milk from Prairie.

I would expect Tulsa and Hammond to become part of Hiland.

So same people going to repeat practices and run both dfa and Prarie farm in to the ground. Not much to look forward too. History repeating itself

Just like DFA, lots of former Dean Foods management at Prairie. A bit different in that a lot of them ended up at Prairie due to Dean Foods plant closures or else after getting fired for disagreeing with the executive team where as a lot ended up at DFA because they saw what was coming and had relationships at DFA established during all the shady Dean Foods/DFA deals over the years- at least that's the case in with the former Dean Foods employees at Prairie and DFA that I'm aware of.
So don't have any inside information but I would expect Prairie decisions to be based on what's best for the overall business vs. DFA where it will be what's best for manager bonuses.
