Why would they demote someone two levels? They k–led it in the interview and couldn't do the job? Do they keep their salary?

The only thing that would stink is if you go down to a level where you are not bonus eligible. But the less stress and bs may be compensation enough.
Anytime Pepsico chooses to pay you the same, demote you, ask you for less blood, allow you to stay and eat snacks you’re a big winner. Eventually they’ll chop your head and you’ll get paid for a year. Win win win win win!!!
