Furloughed from today till June 30th. Same BS as the first round of furloughs. But they're more optimistic this time around.

I could only speak from where i'm on the east coast and from what i've heard in my area and the surrounding ones they have been at off sites and at regional service centers and they even closed a few branches down from what ive heard. I wouldnt be surprised if they furloughed at the airports to and i get a feeling that these furloughs could turn into even more layoffs cuz even if they call the part timers into work who we dont know how long this pandemic gonna last and they could slash the hours of even more part timers again and just tell us we been let go due to this pandemic. ive seen a lot of comments saying that and i wont be surprised if more layoffs are coming considering this pandemic is unpredictable and enterprise lost a boat load of revenue and it could get worse
I also work for enterprise part time and I've been furloughed since march 23rd and i noticed that i was paid all my choice time hours pay but i didnt ask for any choice time pay which i found unsual. Then someone emailed me on April 28th saying my zero hours would be extended until June 30th. yesterday i get a call from some HR person saying how she was only laid off for like a month and that i may get a call either in the middle of june or towards the end of june or even after june saying that I could return to work so that means in still employed. The one thing i find extremely odd though is how this person ended up telling me that they furloughed 300 people and laid off 100 and i didnt even ask to hear any of that information and that was towards the end of the conversation so what could that mean does anyone know. Another thing i was told in the email was that the reason why they extending the furlough is to watch the impact of covid 19 and to "develop a better sense of our future direction so no action is required on your part at this time". I know ive been told im not permanently laid off but im a bit skeptical after reading that email and being told about the amount of layoffs and furloughs without even initiating a question asking about that
Still on furlough. I requested to NOT use my PTO. I was told emphatically by HR that I had no choice. I was told they would first use my 1 Floating Day, then my 7 Choice Days, and finally all of my Vacation Days, in that order, until all PTO was used. So, yes It seems they can ‘force’ you to use all PTO while furloughed.
Pretty sure you cannot be forced to use your paid time off. you can collect unemployment if you do not get paid otherwise. My suggestion would be to use your choice time/float first and go ahead and apply for unemployment. They have to pay you for unused vacation when you are terminated. They do not have to pay you for the choice time or the float days so go ahead and use those. Federal government has updated furloughed employees as ok to get unemployment due to COVID. If I weren't already laid off I would have done that. As it is, I lost all my choice time as I was terminated prior to the end of my initial two weeks paid furlough, didn't get a chance. Check with your local state government to confirm.
There have been furloughs at Global Shared Services in Tulsa. Many of the first rounders have been laid off. The second rounders are holding out hope to have their jobs saved. Probably not going to happen.... people are predicting that whole operation will be shut down with the operations relocated to St. Louis.
Florida here. We are being forced to use all of our PTO while furloughed. Told it was mandatory and that we had no other option. There is no local, state or federal law requiring this. It was the company's decision entirely. You will not be approved for unemployment while receiving PTO pay...at least not in Florida.
I'm on furlough and have been burning through my PTO. Does anyone know if you're able to collect unemployment instead of using your PTO of you've been furloughed?...or do you have to use your vacation time first? I work in California.
I think this time may be different just based on how the meeting went for us - but I could be eating my words. Chrissy also mentioned the current furlough in her recent interview with Fortune, so... I just don't get why you furlough folks for 2 months instead of 1 month (or straight to layoffs) if you don't plan to come back. Here's my thoughts - Work on your resume, apply out, but have a little hope you could return.
You won’t get called back... better start looking for something else
If you were furloughed till the end of June, be prepared to get an email the week around June 22 that invites you to attend a business update meeting. Your update will be a song and dance about the unprecedented times they are in and your employment with Enterprise has ended.
They were optimistic the first time around too lol Start looking for another job just in case. Good luck.
Me too. Really hoping I get called back. I love my job and would gladly go back at reduced pay.
Contact Center from what I heard.
Where did these furloughs occurs? Off site or airports?
