Rebadged employees were just got told that our 40 hour work week will be reduced by 30% to 28 hours a week for 90 days. Because xerox is cutting HCL funding.

Say do you get un employment if your hours are cut?
I am salaried, rebadged former Xerox, now HCL
I am working only every other week
Xerox just absolutely has NO clue, they are cutting the offshores teams hours I heard by 50%, what the hell are they thinking?? Who is going to do the flippen work??? Like how much $ are they saving cutting third world country salaries of people who can't get the work done in 40 hours plus?????
If the Xerox OT is true then it’s what I figured. Xerox came to HCL with their hat in their hands and told a big sob story about how times were tough. HCL bought it and started cutting. The irony is that so much work was transferred to HCL that they might be in a pretty good negotiating position. Think about it, if HCL IRIF’s “trained” people, who will train their replacements when business eventually turns around? And who will do the work? Xerox won’t hire anyone and they don’t have the knowledge any more to train anyone.
Some Xerox employees are still doing OT too while HCL was cut.
Aren't you people responsible for the Java-DocuShits controller? Be ashamed of yourselves!
WIll the Xerox / HCL CEO's be taking a 30% cut as well?
30% of John V's Salary would go a lot further to help the company then taking 30% from what is left of their already poor employees.
@3znf
I have heard stuff on calls, I believe this to be true, I think offshore employees have no idea this is coming, we are screwed!!!!!
Planned reduction schedule:
US - May 4th
Canada - May 4th
UK - May 7th
Philippines - May 8th
Guatemala- May 15th
India - May 25th
I am rebadged and salary, was advised my pay will be cut 30%. So don't think it matters if you are salary or hourly.
It's not ALL re-badged employees. Those that have received a 60 day notice are still @ 40 hours...
Sadly
So I'm curious
(Full Disclosure, I was a rebadged Salaried Employee that resigned after finding a new job a few months later)...
The Rebadged employees are having their hours cut. How does that affect those (like me) that were Salaried?
As if the situation wasn't bad enough with HCL, now this? We can't get anything done as it is. Despite having these people off-shored, there are things the overseas HCL people just can't do right and it takes two of them to do the job of one of our people. And, they didn't take all the responsibilities, so there are people left at our core (non-HCL) who are getting more and more and more work. And now we're cutting hours of the HCL people? We're doomed.
Its true. Some were told Friday. More to be told tomorrow. Some Xerox managers aren't even aware yet which they'll be affected by this too when the staff can't get things done the clients will see and blame Xerox in the end.
I was told not to breathe a word of it so I don’t think they’ve officially been told. My support has not said anything and he and I are friends IRL. He would have said something. But this blows big nuts.
I'm surprised it's only 30%. I thought the Indian HCL teams are at 50%.
John V still making 24.5 million this year.
so thats good.
Biden 2020!!
Look out for when we all have to pay for the boosted benefits
In the US, If you qualify for as little as a penny of unemployment assistance due to reduced hours, you still get the $600 bonus per week from the Fed.
The hours reduction impacts all HCL employees globally...Canada, EMEA, Guatamala...
Unemployment compensation for reduced hours varies by state in the US. The amount you earn is deducted from the amount you are allowed. https://www.employmentlawfirms.com/Eligible-for-Partial-Unemployment.cfm
Not fake news, fact!!! All U.S. HCL workers told today that effective May 4th their hours are cur from 40 to 28 for 90 days!!!
BS. Fake news.
Of course they cut the U.S. but still allowing offshore to work OT, you wait and see how bad it gets now, this virus is k–ling my chance to get the hell out and find another job!!
In the US, you can apply for unemployment if your hours are reduced.
Eventually that percent will go down to 0.
Yep i heard that too
