Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

I found another job (permanent) durning Covid

I found another job that I I’ll be a permanent position (it’s not a temporary gig) in retail. It’s great pay and benefits. I will be starting next week. I know we are going to be closed until May 16th but how and who should I tell/ give notice to? I want to inform someone. I have my SMs Number but I feel that as a human they deserve some respect with it.

Thanks everyone for the overwhelming amount of support! I’m just a PT team member (that is all I want to be by the way) but I was hired at Target making 14.75, and I know that by the end of this year I’ll be at $15 when they finish their pay raise they committed to. It’s $5 more per hour then I was making so I’m so happy that even if I do work less hours, I will have great pay and a good balance with life, school and work.

First of all congratulations on the start of a new adventure!
If you are in contact with the SM then give your notice to them. Don’t feel to obligated to contact anyone else because I can assure you this company wouldn’t give you any kind of notice to let you go. Giving notice is a courtesy gone to the wayside in today’s world; besides once you’ve alerted management your leaving, they want you gone as soon as possible because you’re no longer loyal to them.

Why tell them anything, the company really has been completely unresponsive. Congratulations to you, give your life jacket to someone that isn’t smart enough to leave. Truly the company will probably be happy they have another one gone off the payroll. Loyalty is not a BBB trait!

Kudos to you. I’m not surprised the caring individual like you would be hired somewhere else. Where were you hired at what company?
I would reach out to your store manager as a courtesy. It speaks volumes for the type of person you are good luck in your future endeavors.

Call your store manager and good luck in your new job. I’m afraid we will have trouble staffing stores when we do reopen. I know of two associates at my location with other jobs already.

I would say HR but they have been nothing but a glimmering non responsive group of folks since this entire thing began. I’d record a voice wav. And then email it to them electronically since they haven’t felt it at all necessary to speak in person on the phone to a vast majority of its employees. But that’s just me
