With the investor call slated for May 7, it is reasonable to assume that layoffs will occur simultaneously or will be announced simultaneously. Everyone should be prepping for this - copy your contacts list, copy any other records you may need, delete any person emails or other records from the system, start transferring you contacts/photos/etc. from work phone to personal. When the moment arrives it will be too late - people who have been laid off at our peer companies report that access is ended remotely simultaneously or even before HR gets you on a conference call. You have been warned - hedge accordingly.

Why’d they let people go in Bakken (any idea who and why)?
I figured those associated with ND were safe given it’s one of the top two money making assets for the company...

How hard was IT hit? I'm still waiting for the helpdesk to fix my computer.

Law ?
Land impacted as well 21 people were let go.
3 Permian
6 in DO
2 in ORB
1 in EF
9 in LA
So is it done for a while? maybe another Qtr?
Hopefully she rides far away....
246 people are being let go via Skype.
The VP of land is going to ride off into the sunset on a Harley
I guess the VP of Land had to offer somebody up.I figure it was a Permian vs ORB battle on which asset was going bear the most headcount reduction. I wonder if she even knows what an actual land professional does ........
In the Permian, the land manager was let go. But apart from that, it’s been mostly smaller fish. I really feel bad for those people. Brought on to work an asset that was dead on the vine.
When are some of the big boys getting axes? This is getting absurd.
This from the tweetsphere:
"MRO announced a 20% RIF today. As the execs compensation has increased YOY by over 15%, MRO has laid off over half its workforce."
Jon Snow knew nothing. If the main event is today, the names are all worked out. A 20% range on what it could be is made up bul|5h¡t
Any Land casualties ?
Already did HR earlier this week. Probably missed a few.
IT hit hard.
For those employees who roll up under Dane it’s mostly been people 55 and older with some middle end managers mixed in. In F&A it certainly looks much less than 20% but hard to tell if the dominos are done falling until 3PM
Hard to believe the execs can even take themselves serious at this point. Start with the buybackers in chief!
Looks like Bran Stark knew what he was talking about. What's the body count?
Yes today. The layoffs should be complete by early afternoon 4/30/20
Starting today ?
we got email announced they will start layingoff Houston
Why would anyone quit now? The smart play is to ride the wave .....
I've been taking my aeron chair (size C) home one piece at a time each evening. Just a few more wheels and I'll have a nice home office chair before I get the boot.
Layoffs have been going on since last year so this shouldn't surprise anyone. What would be surprising is if they actually announced it instead of secretly going about it and hoping that nobody notices.
If I had to guess it will start with the mid to senior level petrotechnical personnel, just like it always does.
Well at least 2 of the more useless directors already quit so that should be 2 less layoffs. May need a powerpoint backfill tech for the Permian team.
You will see that there is iron in my words...
Trolls are a cancer on the entirety of society. Statements made about the “reasonableness” of a supposed event are clearly the product of someone who has no direct/real knowledge of anything. Fear mongers will always be present. Just do your job, control what you can, and hope that the country recovers sooner rather than later.
It started today.
Review the TAP package on the wave
Talk of severance packages?
Totals still TBD. Minimum 20%, but above 40% within possibilities.
sounds like someone in the know? numbers?
