Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

???

How is it confirmed? Anyone know what groups are being hit ? There is nothing in NY or LA Warn reports like last time. The unions seem to know nothing.

It’s tomorrow. Everyone’s freaking out like we can control who gets laid off and who doesn’t. It’s out of our hands. Who knows how many? Just know that it’s tomorrow and different departments and channels have been talking about it.

Warn Report requires 60 days notice if your plant - that’s what they call it is so big. They have been updating daily if you look. It’s a bloodbath of course as of late. Jan Warn listed like 75. Then Feb was called updated and list the Feb layoffs. They list perm or temporary layoff and if a union is involved. The separation date is when you leave or the 60 days if they just pay you that. Looking at the daily updates, it is still required. It shows when they post and when the office received it. The IC or PBE were technically employed by a diff company so those aren’t listed. Seems to be a couple days lag on some notices. They could wait it and post end week but it is still required. CA. Is a day behind on posts. Newsom is not making businesses do the 60 day by executive order.

If I had to guess, posting the WARN notifications on their website isn't of high priority to the unemployment office right now. In other words, we have no idea.

Correct. The warn report and the update isn’t new. But can someone explain how those work? The people who are effected in the report are notified ahead of time? Educate me please. And this can’t be all that is laid off tomorrow, there has to be a loophole?

That notice was for the Feb 26th round (i.e. people let go on that day). The reason there is one from January and one from February is that they have to true-up once the actual impact is known. The "layoff date" corresponds to when the severance pay runs out & their contract is terminated.

This company has appx 20,000+ employees. This notice only says 117 which is nothing.

I think this document is meaningless and worthless.

WARN report from the FEB date in NY was 117 people. Sixty days notice. Separations To begin on around April 15. Everyone seems to be posting this is brand new. The end FEB people heard. That one lists specifically which group location and address of work.

There is absolutely a WARN report, confirming this tomorrow. It’s high level of course, it doesn’t give departments or names but it’s there. It was done on 2/28
