Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Customers are off the rails

I guess this situation is getting to everybody, but I really wish people would realize that we are here to serve them and help them buy whatever they want and not to be their punching bags. I've lost count of how many people have yelled at me last week - and I mean getting in your face screaming at you for minutes kind of yelling - for no good reason. I'm honestly getting so tired of it that I'm not sure for how much longer I'll be able to just take it and nod my head and apologize - as is expected of all of us.

How hard is it to remember that people working at stores are human too? And then to treat them as such?

Screw these people. I work in Appliances. You ask we where the light bulbs are, I say "electrical." You ask me where the cabinet hardware is, I say "hardware." You ask me where the bathrooms are, I say "look for the signs." You ask me where the Manager is because I'm being rude, I send them to Customer Service. F-U Dipshits!

I worked for Lowes for 24 years and could count the times on one hand when customers yelled at me. At that point they’ve crossed a line and need to be directed to management. Once you’ve handed them off to them or directed them to the front then simply disengage and walk away.

Lowes does not protect you from the endless line of mo–ns mindlessly walking around the store with their thumb up their a–. You have to protect yourself and be firm with id–t customers that have no regard for their health or yours. Lowes practices Scorched Earth Capitalism!

Customer gets in my face, it take a step back and tell them if they step towards me again I'll take it as an act of aggression and defend myself. Said that twice in my 12 year career

In my store the managers log out of the push to talk feature and/or pull the battery out.

Today we had a customer berating a (pregnant) cashier for resting on a stool while someone got the item numbers for some bulk hardware, you the stuff they they are supposed to put in a bag and write the item number on. To her credit she worked until lunch, clocked out for lunch, gave her vest to the front end manager, and told her “I’m done, I won’t be back, ever.”

I agree with above

Before it’s turns crazy

Tell customer it would be best to discuss their problem with a manager

THEN TELL THEM TO GO TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASK FOR A MANAGER

Do not offer to call a manager!!!

In my store the managers normally refuse to answer their phones and your left there with
A jerk.

Tell customer it is best
They have go to customer service
And ask for manager on duty

Then I go to next customer or break room

This advice is from my store manager

At my store it will be assumed that the associate is wrong and the customer is right always. Unless of course you are one of the special associates who can do no wrong or work for that matter.

If no one is around, tell the “f— you” and walk away.

No matter the complaint, no customer EVER has the right to “yell” or “get in your face”. Direct them to the front to ask for a manager and walk away from the rude pos. These are the people that deserve CV19 right up their entitled asses.

The only people shopping right now are the most entitled people who don't normally do projects and have no idea what they are doing.
