Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Curbside Craziness

I’m pulled from my department to assist with curbside pickup today. Customer calls the store for their order, another customer calls for their order. I pull both orders and head out to deliver to the vehicles. I put both on the same cart and notice about 30 some people in line. First customer is for 30 pieces of shiplap, as I approach his truck he pops out comes over to me and starts screaming “that’s not my order, that’s not my order!” He’s pointing to the set of attic stairs that is on the bottom of the H cart. When he finally shuts the f— up I tell him I know that is not his order, it’s for another customer who happened to be parked next to the crazy customer.

Once crazy shiplap gets back in his truck and starts to leave he is so impatient that he sc-apes the side of his truck on the tailgate of the second customer. Crazy shiplap jumps out, surveys the damage and starts in on me s time it’s my fault because I couldn’t wait to load the second customer. He pulls back in and goes into the store to make a claim for the damages; he’s driving a Cadillac Escalade while the truck he hit is a Chevy beater.

Crazy customer talks to ASM that doesn’t like me; I never do anything right according to him. If I chose left I should have chosen right. After talking to both customers ASM takes my “statement” and tries to convince me that I am somehow at fault for the actions of an impatient hot headed customer.

I am so done with crazy customers and Lowe’s that if I found a job today I wouldn’t bother with Lowe’s tomorrow.

OP here. I spoke with the store manager about this. ASM who took my statement denied doing so. I told the store manager to check the cameras and he will see that bully ASM did indeed take me into his office for a closed door meeting. Just another attempt on the part of the bully ASM to try and make me out to be a bad employee.

Can't top the original post but really hate the fact that many of the curbside pickup patrons are not entering the "#" symbol on their phones so our software only sees the "4" digit in the extension number and is transferring many of the curbside pickup calls to the appliance department instead of the front end. Also love how people are showing up just minutes before store closing and phoning that they are waiting out front to pickup their orders. We desperately need more staff to process internet orders as the regular department staff is already overwhelmed with the hoards of customers flocking to the stores. Most days we are still pulling Sterling (internet) orders well after closing which delays and/or impacts our ability to clean the stores. You have to live it to understand just how insane it has all gotten. Oh yea, and NO OVERTIME!!!

Tell the truth, dont fall for the pressure from the ASM. Any person driving is the sole person responsible for any accident. Period. It’s also between the two drivers and has nothing to do with Lowes.
