There is a guy who speaks on YouTube but there is an animation of a bear; calls himself the "Den of Tools".

At first, I thought he really got the people that work there, but half way in, you see...
He makes a statement I think about everyday when I work.
He sort of belittles anyone that stays at Lowe's for years, saying it's a career. His point, he slyly slides in is, if you stay at Lowe's like a career, you're not real bright. Liwes should be like a McDonald's job, it's a starter. No matter how much you like it there.
The icing on the cake is when he explains that corporate looks at your job, and I quote the bear, "any monkey can do your job".
So, instead of taking older/experienced workers and giving them a 20 home and pension, they want new people they can mould and teach the Lowe's veer to. And they'll ask to sing it twice.
When you finally accept the truth that you are a monkey, your next decision comes easy. I start retirement in May...
Should take three monkeys to fill my shoes. I know that the customers I work with in Pro say when I'm gone, they are too. I stole them ftom HD and local lumber yards. They said they'll go back.
I already have a job set up to go to. Once the restrictions are lifted it's going to be adios, kiss my a– in two weeks. The new Lowe's is to make money and beat HD no matter who they run over. They don't care about you, only money.
Wonder what's going to happen next week when we start closing at 9pm. My schedules were just changed for the next 3 weeks. We are hurting on coverage as it is, now we will be spread even thinner. Wonder if its because of mothers day weekend is coming up. We are in the tri state market.
How many managers does that White Marsh store have? Every time someone posts it's a different name. I keep forgetting to call the White Marsh store when I am at work to fact check things.
I just called in to White Marsh and said i'm no longer coming in. Was yelled at by SM yesterday for refusing to wait on rude customer without a mask. Another customer recorded the entire thing and sent me the video this morning.
I will be sending the video to the reporter at the Baltimore Sun that was trying to do a story on the disaster at that store.

Seeing a lot of new faces, I guess it is easier for Lowe's to find workers since we are one of only a few stores still open,
The place is a freaking ZOO! Many of our customers are flocking to the only places open because they are bored out of their minds. Phones blowing up non-stop because others are afraid to come into the store and want to shop by phone. Associates running non-stop trying to get everything done. Every employee in the store is now a part time janitor tasked with constant cleaning. Managers grilling us for not making our department numbers (Appliance Dept) when our ADC is CONSTANTLY out of the products customers want to buy not to mention we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic. LONG time specialist who is now making less (thanks to the allowance revocation) than many of the newer under performing specialists (as years ago they started us at a MUCH lower base pay and the subsequent pay raises are in no way merit / performance based). Have already completed my first pass at cleaning out my desk and locker. I am out of there first chance I get.
I’d be gone too if it weren’t for the fact that people are hiring just for the corona virus and not long term and at a rate less than what I make at Lowe’s.
Us too. Every weekend so far, plus 2 or more during the week. Good workers fed up.
