Will fulltime workers hours be shortened? Returns, customers touching clothing and cosmetics, trying on shoes, long lines. I dont see this going well.

I'm glad people think they are safe ordering products online. There's very little hand sanitizer and no Lysol available to warehouse workers who are suffocating in the hot warehouse wearing masks. Whoever mandated masks must be sitting in the air conditioned offices! Zero concern for the workers working in the heat. Whoever thinks they get a "generous" 30 minute break, here's the facts: it takes 5 minutes to walk across the warehouse to the break room and when the bell rings at the end of the 30 minutes the supervisors are harping "let's go people". Then, you have a 5 minute walk back to the other side of the warehouse. No extra pay during the pandemic either!
Some stores reopening in Tennessee Friday. Knoxville stores reopen Monday
Nothing remotely "dark and s-xy" about Alfred Dunner.
I knew we were in trouble when Lisa Harper took over, before she left hot topic she said she wanted it to return to its “dark, s-xy origins” or something to that nature, then she comes to belk where the average customer is a 65 year old southern women who weighs 300 lbs. talk about not knowing your customer base.
Belk is in financial trouble, people don’t realize they were cutting store hours due to lack of sales before the corona virus took over, now with retail in the trouble that’s its in, Belk most likely will be taking some drastic measures to staff and store operations, Also sycamore partners is being sued for backing out of the Victoria secret deal supposedly which means they could be facing some serious issues too, I’m not really sure what’s going on with Victoria secret other that what is online. I hope the associates realize that this company does not have their best interest at heart, not my any means, and managers are robots just programmed to say things to keep associates happy even if what they say makes absolutely no sense at all, Another manager was rehearsing what to say to associates on the phone, I told her that her rehersed script sounded too fake.
so so sad what belk has turned into, and the ceo needs to be let go, she is horrendous.
Whoever “A” is. That must be short for a–hole
wage and hour lawsuits are exempt from arbitration agreements too.
reduced pay is considered a breach of contract, been there done that with Toys R Us when I was a manager, they reduced employees pay, and they sued and won, same thing will happen with belk if they choose to go that route.
Whoa. Belk is gonna be in hot water with this craziness.
No need to worry! All the Sycamore corporate bigwigs and other executives are staying home, so they are safe. They might even just go ahead and buy that Victoria's Secret for millions if they can work the price down even more.
Only a few states have stores opening now, including GA and SC.
Dressing rooms are closed and break rooms are limited– no snack machines, fridges or microwaves to be used. It's BYOF (bring y'all own food) and it is not recommended to eat near each other. Plus, there's tape on the floor to remind individuals about staying apart. Except when you're unloading trucks full of imported items in small, cramped quarters. There has to be an exception somewhere.
Only a few hourlies can come back to work as the staffing is cut, and while the hours are increased as a result, reduced pay is not out of the equation. All full timers get a generous 1/2 hour break per day, though, so it's not a heartless company.
Where Belk fails in PPE (masks and gloves are limited) they make up for in distance coaching. As one director of stores (we'll just call her "A") posted from home, "Losers assemble in small groups & complain about the coaches and other players. Winners assemble as a team and find ways to win,"
