In all seriousness, JCP would be wise to rethink the constant pushing and pumping of credit cards. The argument is that shoppers spend more money on average with the card, which is true. On the other hand, it is hard to imagine customers having much interest in credit cards whenever and however stores reopen. A debit card option would be more viable than the credit card.
But this won't happen. Corporate is full of greedy b–tards and store management is filled with self-important id–ts that are foaming at the mouth all day. There's no sensible strategy; they're all going to ride this thing to the bottom.
