My SM just texted to finally check up on me as I’ve been telling her I haven’t been able to get unemployment and wondered if I should apply elsewhere? She offered me a couple hundred dollars to hold me over because she’s still getting full pay as emergency closing and doesn’t want to lose her receiver!! Not cool! My loyalty has been misplaced!!! And HR can’t even answer a call or return an email?

What does HR have to do with unemployment? I got all my ducks in a row before the phone call went out on April 2 as soon as I saw furloughs going on with Macys and Kohls. I printed everything i needed from adp and got my start date from Hr site. Set up account with unemployment on 4/1. On sat 4/4 I applied on line (not on a phone but desk top computer) and everything went thru just fine.
As a SM i can assure you we are not getting pd currently. We received our last check on 4/18. We did get paid an additional 2 weeks after furlough.
Your loyalty has been misplaced because your store manager, (who would cost alot more than you to replace) is being taken care of, decided instead of lying to you OFFERS YOU her own money to help. Wow. My store manager would never. Once unemployment gets figured out you get back pay for however many weeks you missed and I'll say it again so the people in the back can here-its much more than you typically make in a week to begin with 600 plus unemployment. So chill out, company was trying to do everyone a favor, it's not their fault over 20 million people are applying at the same time.

IF you are full time and still receiving your medical benefits you are getting paid as well. Part time gets nothing.
