So I had an employee from Depot ask rather Lowe's gave us any additional hours. Because yesterday they were given an additional 160 hours. They now have 240 hours as full time associates to use during this time if not will be paid for those six weeks in November. I wonder if this is true ???

My best friend works for Home Depot. They gave full timers 80 hours personal time and part timers 40 hours. Then they gave employees 65 years or older and employees with certain health conditions diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure etc an additional 80/40 hours. Then they increased it to an additional 80/40 hours for those employees.
Home Depot usually posts their Important announcements on their website (https://corporate.homedepot.com/newsroom). I have not seen anything supporting what this person told you. Could be they misinterpreted what they announced on April 13, 2020. Any way you slice it HD is doing significantly better for their employees than Lowe's. Excerpt of HD April 13 announcement below:
Expanded Benefits for Associates
We’ve expanded benefits to address the needs facing hourly associates as a result of COVID-19:
- Added 80 hours of paid time off for all full-time hourly associates and 40 hours of paid time off for part-time hourly associates (see note)
- Added 160 hours of paid time off for full-time hourly associates who are 65 years of age or older or determined to be at higher risk by the CDC, and 80 hours of paid time off for part-time (see note)
- Providing paid time off for any associate who has contracted COVID-19 until they’ve been released by a doctor
- Providing up to 14 days paid time off for any associate required to be quarantined
- Extended dependent care benefits and waived co-pays
- Providing double-time pay for hourly associates working overtime hours
- Created additional bonuses to hourly associates at $100 per week for full-time hourly associates and $50 per week for part-time hourly associates in stores and distribution centers
Note: This incremental PTO can be used anytime, for any reason, between now and the end of the year, and will be paid out at year-end if not used.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
Yeah, we got nothing
