Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Warn act?

Was the reason for branding this lay-off as furlough to get around the Warn Act?
Once access is turned off do they then declare it as a lay-off?

the reason for the furlough is a cheap layoff.
They know a sizable % will find another home before they return to Sabre. That way when they do the actual layoff upon the furlough return. They only have to pay a smaller percentage of the people sev.
Typical mafia stuff. that you find in the dark dirty alleys of unethical behavior

It’s an interesting thought.
Funny that so many travel industry companies are also doing mass furloughs.
What about previous layoffs? I’ve been here for nearly 30 years and I don’t recall ever getting a warning. Hell, they used to walk us. No warning at all.
