Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

Corporate Lay Offs Coming Now

150+ being laid off by Dallas Corp starting today. Very few being pulled over to DFA. I hope some of you were smart enough to be searching for a new position somewhere.

At least most of them got Key Employee Retention Pay before being let go. Some of the DFA people are quite good.

Pure milk not CPGers and fewer of the executive sales folks that moved up from driver and are the mean, incompetent type.

I feel sorry for any of the good managers who don't deserve to lose their jobs because there are several, BUT, I agree with the other poster in that it's my sincere hope, that the bad managers ROT IN HELL!!! Especially the manager at my plant that frequently reminded us how worthless and replaceable we are. Now HE is going to be the one replaced. Love how Karma comes back to bite!!! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

I just find it funny that most of the executives for DFA are all former DF employees. Talk about repeating history.

Re: Reorg after chapter 11...Dean Foods isn't going to have any manufacturing capabilities or own any brands or have a corporate office, so all that will be left will be left to reorganize is the million dollar execs. Those execs always thought that everyone else was expendable and the reasons that their plans didn't turn things around was due to the surfs below them not being smart enough to understand their plans. So yes, maybe the execs will reorganize and demand that their non-existent manufacturing facilities start following new edicts. It won't turn a profit, but the money lost will be less than it's been.

Can anyone that works there still comment on how a couple other people here said that Dean foods is actually still taking business away from others?

I'm wondering if business will continue and just be smaller at the end of this Chapter 11, which is considered a Reorg not a closing.

I already know I’m losing my job. And honestly I did all I can do at this company and I’m moving on. This is just how big corporations operate. Deals like this are not announced to the general working class of the company, so basically when we start smelling something fishy it’s best in advance to start looking for a better job!

Guessing the only ones DFA will have an interest in are the ones that used to work for former Dean managers who now work for DFA (and there are a number of those). Hate to see anyone lose their jobs, so good luck to most (but not all) of you.
What's going to be interesting to see is which of the executives end up at DFA. Because you know some of the one sided nature of the deal with DFA had to be because of some off the record side deals that were made.
