Teamsters shoved in hard

How they put such a good spin on 5000 people losing a pension funding job is almost criminal

make no mistake that Prairie Farms = DFA. They are trying to fool DOJ, pretending they are different buyers but in fact they are working together to screw DF employees over.

What was tarded was anyone thinking that there was any room to negotiate here and that any company other than the 2 dairy companies that are buying the majority of plants would have offered anything close to what they offered. Most other successful companies would have tried to force major concessions and then used the court to totally get rid of the CBAs- all seniority and any other job protections would be gone.
"But they wouldn't be able to do that because we would put them out of business" you say. Maybe. But if that happened you still wouldn't have your old pension plan and then you also wouldn't have a job.

If you want to blame the Teamsters for anything it's for taking credit for a good deal that they didn't really negotiate. DFA and PF came with a very generous offer and the options were to approve it or have it forced on you by the court. There was nothing to negotiate so blaming the Teamsters is silly. Instead you should be thanking DFA and PF for being so generous and not forcing major concessions.
