Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Department Supervisors are a waste of payroll!

Our department supervisors are freaking useless. Why do we have them here? They just get in the damn way. All ours does in tools and hardware is count ins and outs and reiterates what's supposed to be done. 90 percent of the staff in our area have been here 3 plus years we know what we are doing. One of our fulltime guys who is 30 yrs old applied for the DS position in our area which knew the departments and was an awesome worker and leader. Our ASM decided it was a good idea to hire this 42 yr fat p—hile looking guy from our orange competitors store. The guy hasn't worked as a supervisor in a retail setting in 6 yrs. His last job he came from a manufacturing plant doing some kind of position over quality control management inspection go figure. What the hell is wrong with this picture guys? Anyways Our ASM point blank said he did not wanna hire anyone under 40 for the DS position. When we had a more than qualified 30 yr old guy who knows the departments and what has to be done. The guy they hired doesn't know what hes doing he was a flooring manager at our orange competitor 6 plus yrs ago. Been out if the retail scene for awhile into manufacturing big diffrence.

The department supervisors in my store are probably the hardest working people. They juggle everything from management duties, stocking, customer service. We have one that is pretty lazy the rest are hard workers. If you ask me the are underpaid.

Imagine being a wage slave and finally getting fed up with it only to take all your anger out on middle management instead of the board of directors and hedge fund managers actually screwing you over.

If your store is like mine they love to hire from Home Depot figuring they are sticking it to the man. Must be a directive from Marvin, anyone who works/worked at Home Depot - hire them on the spot.

The problem is when they get to Lowe’s all they want to do is stand around delegating and talking to other former Home Depot associates. Our ISLG department supervisor came from Home Depot. He still lives at home and has to get rides to/from work because of too many DUI’s. They passed over the LNS, a guy in his 50’s to hire this kid in his twenties.

EDIT: The fulltime 30 yr old went to be an MST after he found out they chose a hone depot jackass.
