So LP announced the end to the NB furlough by may 4. Quoting him here: 'On May 4, the North Belt campus furlough exercise will end. '. An exercise????? is this a F—ING joke???? People are not getting payed during their week off and probably getting into debt and this FAT A– is CALLING IT AN EXERCISE. No regret, nothing. I thought my current managers at Sperry Software where dumb–ses but I was was not expecting this from LP.

The term “exercise” in business means to put into effect or bring into play. It’s not derogatory by any means and is often used in business for things such as reductions or furloughs or even mass hiring. Don’t get all bent just cause you don’t understand business jargon.
You don’t get to that level of a career being a good person in general. Anyone at a director level or above is generally going to be an arsehole. Clawing you’re way to the top takes deception, callousness and a general feeling of superiority either by upbringing or educational achievement. You think any of these VPs or above gave 2 crud’s about a 5-10% pay cut? Their salary is a tiny portion of their earnings. It would be the equivalent of normal people taking a $500 a year pay cut. You wouldn’t notice it. To them it was exactly that. A Peasant exercise for the plebs of the world to suffer through. Because they know they are safe and aren’t going anywhere, and if they do they get a huge severance package in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.
