Note that this article says oyo is "asking" employees to accept paycut/furlough. So I assume they can't really force it per Indian law...
We need to ask ourselves why work for this company? If you are furloughed do you think you will be back? If you remain, do you feel secure in your job and feel that you have a future? If your answer is no then you need to look elsewhere. Enough is enough!
Furloughing "A little over 1/3" of the company" when we have over 10600 employees is right in the 4000 range. Considering that India is not affected at all, and that other countries they are furloughing in have requirements they keep paying some, a huge % of US force will be affected. Does anyone know how many employees are in each country, or at least India?
If they close the shop in India, will you be working after hours to support the business ?
Why furlough in India? Just close down the shop in India.
I think companies in India can not furlough during the current lockdown which is scheduled to end May 3rd.
The company in question is rolling this out starting May 4.
