Thread regarding Disney layoffs

Half of workforce gone?

Disney has now furloughed and laid off more than 100,000 people in the past month or so. Just imagine the scope of that. If I'm not mistaken, that's about half of all Disney employees. The way things are going, by the time this is over, none of us will have a job anymore.

Are laid off Disney workers covered by the Federal and State WARN Acts? These provide 60 days notice in the case of a mass layoff. This basically means that furloughed workers would continue to receive pay and benefits for 60 days.

Of course if the shut down business units do not resume operations then those workers will be gone for good, and I really don't see DLR or WDW resuming operations in that time frame.

What’s happening to the staff at the Glendale and Burbank facilities? Do they get to keep their jobs or are they also being furloughed?
