Effective at the end of the day on March 27, 2020, Tenet Healthcare is implementing a temporary furlough of certain positions. This notice is to inform you that your position is included in this furlough and, as such, you are being placed on a temporary, unpaid leave of absence effective beginning the end of the day on March 27, 2020.
During this furlough you will not be asked or allowed to provide services to the company or do any work.
We reasonably expect that this furlough will last through June 19, 2020, however we cannot guarantee an end date at this time. It is important to note that your employment continues to be at-will and nothing in this notice or other furlough communications is intended as an express or implied contract.
You may be eligible for unemployment benefits under these circumstances. Contact your local unemployment office for information on eligibility and applying for unemployment benefits. Present this letter to your local unemployment office as evidence of your employment status.
It will be important for us to be able to remain in communication with you during the Furlough period. As such, please complete the enclosed Personal Contact Information form to ensure that we have your most recent personal phone number, email, and/or mailing address. They also stopped the 401k matches for the rest of the year....gave bonus to admin and ritmeyer BACK in March when they new about covid. Posted sign on delray medical car Hero s work here, but exposed to covid use your own Pto/vacation. Took government bail out now layoff kept money bought over 200 miillon in clinics for profit.....
I was furloughed then was called at home twice because they needed info from me for meetings. Info I couldnt do because I was laid off but yet the as wipes still expected me to get the work done. They treat employees like sh–
Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against Tenet and Conifer! They are both DIRTY!!!
I know, I work for them. Even though the CEO said we could work from home, the CNO said no. That we wouldn't be productive at home. Eventhough we've been set up to work from home for years. In my office I volunteered to be off for a month because I was told we would be furloughed. Well that did not happen. Once I was off, they parsed out my duties out to other coworkers. All the while, I'm sitting at home, slowly being replaced, living off my PTO, and wondering how I'm going to pay for health insurance. The only option I'm being offered is to work doing bedside care again. I came to work at their office because I physically could not work bedside anymore. Additionally, I sustained a back injury about 3 weeks ago. I can't go to physical therapy because all the offices are closed. So I'm stuck. The best option for me is to apply for disability. Especially because my job description changed. But the decent thing for Tenet to do is grant me furlough. I'm single and a recent resident to a new state with no family or friends. This is a terrible way to treat a healthcare provider.
Another big round of layoffs happened today.
I just found out today that if you have remaining PTO and you give your two weeks notice the company ( conifer) will not pay you for your unused PTO bunch of c-ap!!
Remote work has been allowed for corporate, CBO employees, and other administration positions.
While on furlough, Tenet is not paying dental, vision, PTO, MTO, not contributing to 401k and HSA accounts. Your payments towards 401k, HSA, Short and Long term disability insurance have ceased through 6/19/2020.
401k-you will continue accrue vesting because you are still employed with Tenet.
PTO-you are not accruing.
If you were expecting an salary increase for 2020, you will not see it either upon your return. The increase was effective 3/29/2020 and due to pay out 4/17/2020. We were furloughed 3/27/2020.
Being a furloughed employee will have an effect on the annual incentive plan or bonus because the plan year will not be prorated for us and regardless of the company’s progress or your hard work tenet will not guarantee that furloughed employees will get an award.
For questions, email hrbusinesscenter@tenethealth.com
CEO at my hospital states Tenet policy is no remote working option allowed. Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill SC requiring all employees report to work inside the hospital. No protective gear is offered to non-clinical staff.
I am a FT nurse that was furloughed while they continue to pay PRN and Agency nurses to work. Even paying them overtime and bonus shifts.
My questions are:
If we find another job during this furlough and resign will they still pay our PTO balance.
When they decide to pay the 401k employer contribution when I receive mine as well if I resign since I was employed at the time they should have contributed to the 401k?
Tenet Health gave their employees (which includes UPSI and urgent care centers) a 2 day notice of being furloughed without pay for 12 weeks. They offered to pay medical ONLY (and not HSA). All other benefits were stopped including 401k contributions and optional insurances the employee pays into. They chose to not prepare or warn their employees even though management was instructed to let go contract and temporary workers by 3/20/2020. Along with the posted letter, an FAQs document was sent with the furloughed employee packet. It states that furloughed employees usually do not qualify for unemployment. Luckily, states have recognized that this is happening and have allowed you to apply for unemployment benefits.
Tenet has chosen to continue construction and build outs of new facilities trying to open in the following 3 months.
Tenet with its other companies has showed a complete lack of care for their employees. So much for a company built on care.
I bet they are first in line to grab stimulus money after taking terrible care of there employees.
Ron is a terrible CEO and an even worse human being. There’s a reason he walks around with three bodyguards at all times. Don’t count on these furloughs and benefit cuts being temporary.
I am one of the employees who received this same letter. They are atleast paying our health benefits during the furlough 🤷♀️ This is a horible experience to go thru - no doubt, however, I am happy with what they are doing for us. There are many people who are losing jobs to shut downs or not able to file for unemployment . . .it could be worst. As for corporate level employees still making all their money - that's life.
This is unacceptable!!! While these executives get to sit home and continue to collect their salary based pay- The employees who actually do the leg work in these facilities get to figure out what to do next & TRY to collect unemployment if that’s even possible with millions of other Americans also TRYING during this time. This is a damn shame! Google Tenet, & USPI and they’ve been sued and have paid millions out in the last year- No wonder they aren’t interested in helping and taking care of their employees during this Pandemic.
I am one of those workers that received this furlough notice. As a mother with 4 children this is a time in which I really get to see the true colors of a very very large national company that does not care for their many employee’s. This is sickening considering Bath & Body Works, Frito Lay, etc. have publicly made it known they are taking care of their employees during this unprecedented time.
Is this for case management department? Does anyone know?
It's a joke. Tenet has the audacity to furlough employees which happened to be approved by the CEO who also makes $30 million a year. Do you think that's contributing to the hard times and need to cut payroll expenses. How the hell do you feel good signing off on a furlough geared at reducing payroll expenses while you make $30 million a year.
Only those furloughed received notice. Did you notice management did not sign the notice. Cannot use PTO during interim. Just big screw you we need to save some money
Was this notice already sent out to the affected employees?
Tenet and Conifer are full of it!!!! They don’t give a dAmn about their employees!! It’s a good old boy system!!!!!! Corporate Greed at its best!!!
